Music and Alcohol: The Birth of my Blog

As an inspiration for my blog, I will reference this New York Times article on music and alcohol, but I’m taking this topic in a new direction. This article centers on how kids listen to about 2.5 hours of music per day, and one in three popular songs exemplify alcohol and drugs. This main concern revolves around teenagers, the most influential age group.

This is a little extreme. My blog is actually directed towards the complete opposite.

Music is a very important part of life. Everyone loves music. And a lot of people love drinking and bar-hopping. I thought of a way to combine the two mixing Massachusetts bands, shows in the Boston area, as well as drinking and bars in this wonderful city. It gives an outsider a look into the city’s nightlife and places to visit, as well as the hit bands that are born and played in Boston.

I find the connection between music and drinking in Boston and exploit it. I find the favorite bars in the city to hear the best music, great Boston bands to hear, as well as interesting places to visit and grab a brew. I’m not saying music is going to cause excessive drinking, but the link between the two is inevitable.
